The muse descends...like a half-tonne of bricks

Yes, I am supposed to be cleaning the bathroom. Alas for the general hygiene of the house and the phone bill and my father's sanity, I am not.

Instead, I just had to write the song alluded to in this, 'The Properties of Being Lost', by bookshop :

http://www.livejournal.com/users/wayfairer/475617.html#cutid1,

in particular, this snippet:

He says, “Hey, Potter, like the song I made up?” and proceeds to show him a (really rather clever) verse about getting stuck in History of Magic for all eternity and dying from boredom. Potter even has the decency to look faintly impressed through the veneer of utter confusion.

(He being Malfoy, that is. Thank god for - at last! - new H/D goodfic.)

And this is the song. Written under the influence of Green Day. Who take no responsibility, let me hasten to assure the public.

Don’t you sometimes think

That Binns isn’t a ghost

In fact he’s a demonic link

To the place we hate the most

History of Magic Class

We all know it’s a portal to another dimension

One that’s too boring to even mention

A dimension of boredom and pain

Where we lose all interest with nothing to gain

If Hell existed it’d be cooler than this

Couldn’t think of one lesson I’d rather miss

History of Magic Class

If I get just one more Goblin-war essay

I think I’ll bloody well lose my mind

It would be a small price to pay

In fact it would be ever so kind

History of Magic Class...

I feel like I’ve been sitting here forever

But it can only have been an hour

Being here makes me want to sever

Something, or fall off the nearest tower

History of Magic Class...

Slowly slipping into a daze

Feeling consciousness slipping away

My mind, it slowly fades

On the desk my head I’ll lay

History of Magic Class..

Brilliant! I’m dead! It happened at last

It’s over! I’m free

Of this mind-numbing class

It’s Hell - and you can’t see the fire for the priests…

History of Magic Class...

Yeah, my insanity scares even me sometimes.

In other news, I'm working on my aunt's commission. I decided to paint flowers, as everyone likes flowers, don't they?...inexplicably. And discovered me the folly of painting white lilies over a purple underpainting. Ho hum pig's bum. But yay for making up shadows as you go along!!

. . . xD THIS ROCKS MORE THAT I EVER COULD.

You know, I think it would actually function as a pretty awesome drinking song. Just add some cruder terms/words/phrases/whatever and I could envision smashed students singing it. xD;

. . . It's going to turn out so awesome. FLOWERS ARE TEH L33T, although personally I've never been able to draw them. xD

So long as the students were Potterheads...but I think you may be onto something there! Still, the Hedgehog Song will never, ever be topped...and loads of people have written versions of that, according the the God himself!

Well, as long as she doesn't mind white, blue and yellow lilies with crazy swirly background (actually, my parents made me paint over that) you could be right. xD

Can I say how much I love your icon?

Of course! But the credit must go to turnedskywards, who made it.

And considering your own icon there...there's a whole new branch of thought with the SHEEP reading the books...

Got here by way of bookshop.

Hahahahaha! Wow, I really liked this. Greenday is some good stuff. Professor Binns is HOTT.

Nevermind.

Thanks for sharing. :)
