That way lies Camelot

Considering the signifigant lack of Yuletide cheer round mine lately, it is surprising how much Christmassy fic-fluff I seem to be churning out. Perhaps I'm siphoning my need for said cheer into the Potterverse. Stranger things have happened...just not very often.

Well, I suck at summaries, which given how much I write is a little off. Instead I thought I'd post the first few lines, so I don't balls it up by making it sound worse than it is (it's fluffy, but not saccharine, I promise). It's Remus/Sirius and Lily/James, PG-13, and...I'd better stop now.

'What about this one, Moony?'

'No,' Remus said, on principle, without looking around.

'Or this one?'

'No,' Remus repeated, spotting a ten-pack of sugar quills and eyeing them thoughtfully, searching for the price tag.

'I wasn't even holding anything up this time.' Sirius sounded injured now. Suppressing a sigh - Sirius could be very wearying at times, such as just after break-time, in the evening, around lunchtime, late at night, and, far too often, at four in the morning - Remus turned to face him.

'Look, Padfoot,' he started patiently, 'I know you think you've got money to burn, but if we buy everyone in Gryffindor house solid gold cruet sets -'

'It was only the one, because Sally said she liked them,' Sirius pouted.

Hopefully links in italics still function...

...and don't feel obligated to read it, I beg. You may want to save your braincells for something more worthy. But - seeing as it is five days to go - I think I can start wishing people Merry Hogswatches/Christmases/Hanunkkahs/Ramadans or the badly-spelled religious/secular celebration of their choice. And this is one way of doing it.

Christmassy fic-fluff (especially when it's yours) is always welcome. Trust me on that one.

Thank you, this was so sweet. And not saccharine at all. I loved James and Remus as the elves, and of course I adored the Remus/Siriusness at the end. Miseltoe... *dies*

Hehe.

Mistletoe is hardly original, but I want the karma to make it happen to me.

Any inspiration on what you want me to write for you? Or do I sound lamentably desperate here...? Yup.

Inspiration is 99% perspiration...
Ok, my birthday fic. *feels very self-important*

I've decided not to give you pairings to do, just requirements, although we all know I wouldn't be averse to a little R/Sness and if you don't put it in I will hang, draw and quarter you.

Ok, here is what thou must include:

It must be Marauder Era.

There must be foreshadowing of Harry's Hogwarts.
(It doesn't have to be blatant or all that obvious)

There must be NO foreshadowing of The Veil, or Sirius's death.

There must be cross-dressing.

Goblins.

Lily must do something embarrassing.

The fic must include the words "yummy little tart". Sirius CANNOT say these words.

Oh, and this isn't a requirement, but I would love it if you could slip a Tonks/Bagman/Lockhart bit into the story somewhere. S/he doesn't even have to be named, it can just be a brief cameo.

Oh, I'm so unnecessarily cruel... Thank you so much for agreeing to write this!

OMG HEART.
'What's your idea, then, Mr Economist?' Sirius demanded, crossing his arms, scepticism leaking from every pore, much like that disastrous essence-of-centaur aftershave he'd worn for a month in fourth year.

*SNRRRRK* (Is 'scepticism' spelled with a 'c' or a 'k'? Um . . .)

in an endeavour to get him to see sense (despite numerous examples over the years that Sirius would rather eat his own head than do such a thing)

xD

It was an excellent plan, he had to admit, and one which he thought the rest of Gryffindor might actually enjoy, as opposed to just surviving.

EXCELLENCE.

Actually, I think there're going to be too many things I want to pull out so I'm not going to comment any more but just quote stuff like mad so I don't have to stop reading. ;D

James' first instinct was to flee; Lily could be notoriously cutting when she felt the need, and James always made her feel the need.

Lily had actually said two words to him in a civil tone, and they weren't 'sod', 'off' or any derivative thereof. xD

A mischievous grin lit Sirius' face - the one that made girls weak at the knees and boys think he practised it in the mirror. (Which he did, with James, as Peter fawned and Remus rolled his eyes and tried to hide behind a book.) LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Of course, the other houses would have substituted 'life-threatening danger and hair-raising practical jokes' for 'fun', but that was precisely the reason that they were in other houses. Although I love it, am I reading it right?

'Ahem,' Sirius called, as James deposited the sack by the throne, 'on behalf of Elf Twinklybum here -' Remus shut his eyes in pain '- I would like to add that these presents do not explode - sadly - turn anyone's hair an unnatural colour - eh, Elf Wallywosa? - or otherwise cause harm and damage, 'cept maybe to your teeth. That's right, kids! Sweets! One for everybody in the audience!' *snicker*

It's too long to copy/paste, but the entire Lily/Santa!Sirius conversation was awesome. xD

James generally had all the natural timidity of an Amazonian tribesman engaged in a naked rain dance. *snerk*

Lily/James = SWEET. Loved it.

'Ah, Padfoot,' Remus said in a pained voice, removing it, 'there was no call to be licking me at all.'

'Sorry,' Sirius said, although he wasn't.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Um. You write some of the most fantastic R/S I have ever read. *glomps and fangirls*

Re: OMG HEART.
OMIGOD MAN. That made me feel so, so, so, unbelieveably so, much better. I adore with the fire of a thousand planetary bodies reviews where people quote. And you did. Muchly. *endlessly glomps*

You're right on the spelling - I get so tired of the grammar checks (fragment: consider revising. NO, OKAY!) that I, er, don't actually run spellchecks anymore...*hides*.

The bit on the houses, what I mean to say was that if you didn't like hair-raising pranks you really weren't a Gryffindor. Or something. xD

*glomps again*

*does the happy Teletubby-inspired happy dance*

*love* ;D It was worth it, to see your reaction. xD

Oooh, hooray! One point for the Inner Editor!?

Of course, the other houses would have substituted 'life-threatening danger and hair-raising practical jokes' for 'fun', but that was precisely the reason that they were in other houses.

. . . Then wouldn't it be ". . . the other houses wouldn't have . . ." *scratches nose* xD

OMG NOOOOOOOOOOO. :( Just for that you're getting the sad icon.

Oops - too late!

I say schmuck still. People either don't know, or else assume you don't know and are too polite to tell you! It works well for me, but I have no shame. Well, okay - I have some shame.

Those Italics are pesky, and are in the habit of going insane and eating your cat.

And if you don't have a cat, they go on a rampage and eat everyone you know's cat.

Not all of them. Most are just there to confuse people.
