Soulmates, soulmates, soulmates. Also soulmates, and soulmates.

SOULMATES!?

Soulmates -  a hint and a memo. Just get the hell. Right outta. My fandom. I don't want to have to hurt you, violence brings too much pleasure to me and will one day prove addictive.

You dig? Kthanxbye.

*is concerned* What's up?

*falls on neck* Oh, my dear, there is so much BAD FANFICTION out there! I am sorry to be elitist, and hard on my fellow fandomers, but there it is...
Caitcoralia13 on January 23rd, 2005 12:34 pm (UTC)
Oh, don't worry. You're preaching to the choir. It is too true, too true.

'Preaching to the choir'? Is that another way of saying 'Preaching to the converted'? Ooh, cool!

Oh but seriously. Using soulmatism to get Draco and Neville, Hermione and Parvati and Harry and Snape together in ONE FIC is really pushing the boat out. I can see these happening with time and effort put into character development, and how people change over time, and a multitude of other factors...but not because of a freakin' potion. Just, no, bitches!!
Caitcoralia13 on January 23rd, 2005 01:28 pm (UTC)
Yes, it's the American version, I guess! You can be so multi-culti now!

That sounds like diluted hell in fanfic form. Why-why-why???

P.S. Did you get beta-d MC5?
every Starbucks should have a polar bearscoradh on January 23rd, 2005 02:34 pm (UTC)
Pretty cool, huh? So can you!

I don't know what you mean by 'diluted', woman...hell can't be much worse than that!

I did! *facepalm* D'oh, I must tell you these things...did I send you the Gazebo one, out of interest? Because it's like the last. (Phew, sez you!)
Caitcoralia13 on January 23rd, 2005 06:58 pm (UTC)
I sure can! I must make a mental note to integrate words like "brilliant" and "spanner" into my everyday vocabulary...

You are, of course, so right. What I meant was "distilled". Silly me.

You did. I am almost finished it. I will send along "Wizards Abroad" right now, which I have finished.
every Starbucks should have a polar bearscoradh on January 24th, 2005 08:08 am (UTC)
You mean you don't say brilliant? Woah, I would be so lost...also if you took the words 'Oh my god' away from me!

Yes, distilled right down into three pages of text...eep.

*smooches* You are a GODDESS. I LOVE you. *dances*
Caitcoralia13 on January 24th, 2005 09:37 am (UTC)
No, but we have all sorts of other fun words, like "awesome", "amazing", "sweet", "ridiculous", "wicked cool", etc. Our most common word is "like", but "Oh my god" is big too. Also one funny thing - we don't say "er". You know how in HP, the sound of hesitation is "er"? And that's how Harry solved the riddle in the maze in book 4? Well, as you can imagine, since we make a different sound with the letter "r" than you do, we say "uh" instead of "er", which is basically the same noise. Made book four make a lot less sense, though!

I love you love me!

Thasso weird! Actually animals have different accents too; in France roosters go cock-a-didle-do instead of cock-a-doddle-do. Swear it's true - the Panel never lies!

*g*
Caitcoralia13 on January 24th, 2005 06:45 pm (UTC)
There's this American humor writer who wrote this essay where he said that the question he asks locals whenever he travels abroad is "what noise do your roosters make?" The answers were strangely varied.

That's probably where the Panel got it from. What's his name? He sounds like my kinda guy!
Caitcoralia13 on January 25th, 2005 12:56 pm (UTC)
David Sedaris. He's freaking HILARIOUS. I would suggest his most recent book, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim. My favorite of his essays is "Six to Eight Black Men", which is the one where he talks about the roosters.

Muah! I'll so keep an eye out for it. Cheers!

Our roosters go kuckeliku. :p

And, in reply to the original post, 'Fuck true love. Real love is much more interesting.' (I can't remember who said that. I am a bad LJer.)
every Starbucks should have a polar bearscoradh on January 30th, 2005 10:25 am (UTC)
Point proven!

That. Is. BRILLIANT! I love it! I think I'll go refernence it on quotations.com...unless it's from someone's lj?

I think that I read it in a reply to one of limyaael's rants, but I can't remember who wrote it. It was quite a while ago, anyway.

Ah well. It's very good, though. Real love. Screw those stupid soulmaters...xD

I have something to cheer you up.

*hands over icon*

If you ever see one of mine that you like, feel free to snatch. There are only a few that I'd rather not see being used by others (such info can be found in the comments of the icon), for the rest they're up for grabs. Credit is nice, though...;-)

You are a peach, and absolute peach. *dances in all-consuming joy*

Of course I'll credit! I always do if I can. That icon is so COOL!!

Happy to hear it makes you happy! *big grin*

This was one of the first icons I ever made, was outrageously proud of myself (that was before I noticed that there's more to iconing than just slapping some text on a pic, hehehe)... :-P
every Starbucks should have a polar bearscoradh on January 24th, 2005 08:09 am (UTC)
I reckon you should still be outrageously proud! It works really well, not to mention that orange tabbies are the sweetest looking cats ever. And, at least you can make them at all! Props.
