Sic transit gloria mundi
So it appears that the Pope is dying. He hasn't been able to breathe...

...yet was well enough at three o'clock today to appoint sixteen bishops and accept the resignation of five others. I highly doubt it's his idea of an April Fool.

All over the world people are praying for his recovery. His recovery; when the best you could hope for in such a circumstance is a speedy and painless death.

If you ever needed proof that Catholics as a mob never had anyone's best interests at heart, that's it.

I'm more cut up than I imagined I ever would be.

Oh so I'm not the only one that thought that, then.

Heh, my mum said it first. xD

I'd heard he'd died already.

. . . whoops.

Don't think so...unless in the sense of living in the real sense of the word. It won't be long, either way. :(

Yeah.

I have no idea what to think about the Pope's health. I merely want to say, your icon makes me dead so I suggest not showing it to him any time soon.

I don't mean to be offensive, but that's kind of a rude thing to say to someone who is clearly more bothered by it than you are. As a Protestant (Church of England/Ireland), I really don't know so much about the Pope. But if his dying upsets people, and he's dying as it is, then why not just let him go without the negative fanfare? Just my two cents.

Okay, first off, let me just say that you are mistaking my original intent of having replied to your comment. Let me clarify: I am not trying to defend the pope. Nor am I trying to support the pope. I am commenting on what I consider to be the insensitivity and crudeness of your reply. I was in a more or less neutral sort of mood when I first replied, and now I'm out-and-out annoyed, because your response to my comment just furthers my opinion of your insensitivity.

You go on at length about how the original post was not "clearly" more upset than you were catching on to.

I'm more cut up than I imagined I ever would be. - last comment of the post. Are you familiar with the term "cut up"? Because it means upset.

Also, It won't be long, either way. :( - Did you miss the unhappy face? I didn't.

And this - If his dying upsets people so, it's not my problem - nope, that's true, it isn't. But if you're commenting on someone's post that says that they are upset by it, then I reiterate my original comment that I find that to be both rude and tasteless for you to have said that. It doesn't matter what your feelings on the pope are. The comment was rude, insensitive, and totally un-called-for. Go ahead and think I'm a jerk for pointing this out, but I really can't believe that anyone would say something like this. I'm not trying to start a flame war here, not in the least, so I would prefer it if you didn't respond to this. Unless you'd like to post an apology to scoradh - who I know hasn't asked for one. That's not the point.

If you can't tell what the point was, even after all this, then email me. Oh, and scroll down to coralia13's comment, which is an appropriate comment: I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say.

That's all you needed to say.

I am not trying to "play the knight in shining armour", you stupid fuck. My entire point is only that you're a rude, insensitive fuck, and that your comment had no place in this post.

I don't know her enough to say which one, nor care either way. If my feelings on the guy's death don't matter, then frankly, neither do hers.

All this means is that you had no business commenting in the first place. It's her journal, not yours, so keep your ignorant comments in your head.

And hell, if she wants to delete it, this thread, and ban me from her journal for one itty comment about one dying human being, she has every right to.

Why would you even make a comment where that's a reasonable, possible outcome? Don't you have anything better to do than to leave shit in other people's posts? I don't think you have any right telling me to "grow the fuck up", frankly.

Man, when I first heard mention of it through maybethemoon's journal, I thought it was her joke.

And then I went to check CNN, and it's there.

I don't think it's a joke on the part of the media, either.

I think I'll pray, too. I haven't done so in a while.

He's a seriously old dude and I'm not really a Catholic; but I don't want him to suffer. He's probably a dead cert for the good place, too.

I have a habit of making bad jokes at bad times...

Neither am I, now, but he's still a good guy.

I noticed. But well, it's true.

I'm actually interested in what happens to him. I hope he doesn't suffer.

The Pope makes me laugh. Watch him end up in hell. That would just be so freaking ironic. He would be with all the fangirls who enjoy boy!sex and making fun of retarded people...or at least he'd end up with me.

And I'm sorry to those who might be offeneded by that comment.

AND OMG YOUR ICON MAKES MY HEAD BLOW UP JUST LIKE THE WORLD!!!!!!!! *esplodes*

I reckon he's got a pretty sure place in heaven...but I don't want to go there anyway, sounds dead (ahaha) boring.

Thanks.
