jesus christ is a lion

I went to Mass twice, which would probably put me in the Big Man's good books if only I hadn't skipped the other fifty-two. Since I was sixteen I've only gone to Mass at Christmas, which is hideously hypocritcal; I wouldn't go at all,  but it would hurt my mother's feelings.

In any case, Christmas Masses are more hilarious than most, as there tends to be singing and mountains of small children and people being dressed-up and uncomfortable. And singing.

I made my mother laugh so much that she said it was a good thing I only go twice a year. I can't actually remember most of my (smart-alec) comments, and they're usually situation-specific anyway, but I do recall the Eucharistic Minister at the Day Mass saying 'Body of CHRIST' as if there was some doubt as to the ownership of the wafer. I said to Ma afterwards, "Whose else would it be? The body of Bob?"

Ma gave as good as she got, mind. We were both rolling our eyes at all the screaming babies, and I said, "They're the choir, don't you see? Singing Hark the Herald Angels."

She was there, "More like Hell's angels."

I got lots of presents that are only interesting to me. Over dinner, Dad gave me and Mum vouchers for a spa day, which was unexpected and awesome. I've always wanted to go to a spa. My book haul included Cordelia's Honour by Lois McMaster Bujold. Someone once compared my writing to hers although, after reading, I have no idea why: she's all plot plot plot political intrigue plot, whereas I'm more bumble bumble bumble sex bumble. Regardless, I like it a lot. It's unusual to find an SF novel in which time has actually been devoted to character development.

40,000 words down on Big Bang III. I have to laugh at the dreadfulness of it all. The only succor is that I hated my/our Big Bang II story and was ambivalent about the Big Bang I, so this can't be too much worse.

I hope.

Ahahahaa, Marry Christmas, sweetie. Your posts always make me giggle, and this is no exception. And 40k on BB3 already? Damn, woman. You amaze me. I'm collabing and we haven't even had a proper outlining session yet. >.>

Aw, thanks! That's good to hear.

we haven't even had a proper outlining session yet

Yeah ... the fact that I didn't even do one is probably why I'm shaking my brother by the lapels and howling, "Quick, list me the Horcruxes!" I couldn't bear to read the last two books a second time, so a lot of my story will be indebted to google-fu.

One of the reasons my family doesn't go to church anymore.

You make my mother laugh too?!

But seriously, my aunt used to give out to me about it, so I get where you're coming from.
