Also, if they cut every piece of dialogue and one-on-one interaction between Bella and Edward, it would be an all-right film.

Also, why was everyone so ugly?!

Also, was there no make-up budget?

Also, what's that Debussy song he puts on? Inquiring minds want to know (and get the sheet music for it).

The parentship went to see Australia, which they also enjoyed. But my dad had this to say:

'It was Darwin, and there was a man wearing a jacket AND and a jumper AND a shirt. HA!'

In my innocence, I asked if you ever needed to wear a jumper in Darwin. Dad said never, and mom added:

'That's where we learned to sleep naked.'

I feel so much better knowing that, I can't tell you.

Bandom fic tomorrow!

OK THANK YOU RE: MAKEUP. It was visibly caked on, grocery-store brand face powder. Most likely some ridiculous bullshit that Smeyer bought off of eBay and demanded they use and only apply with one of those giant, face-sized powder puffs because that is how all the goths do it.

It was indeed "Clair de Lune"! My favorite Debussy song. If you don't have/find an mp3 of it by, um, January 12th I can send it to you once I get back to my own computer. :)

UGH I have to be honest—I really disliked Australia. It was way too fucking long and was like ten different stories all at once, which sometimes can work but in this case did not. It's like Baz came to the producers with the very first draft of his screenplay and they were too busy reading Twilight or something to tell him it needed revision. Blugh.

I've decided I don't like realism in films. I wanted proper makeup and eyeliner and mascara and lipgloss and white teeth NOT just on the werewolves. And then for someone to tell me this is a 'natural look.' I've grown up expecting this, they can't back out now!

*steeples fingers* That would be very pleasing, Mr Burns.

I didn't see it, myself. Nicole Kidman would put me off, you know? But lol at your interpretation. It wouldn't surprise me.

What? Who told you that was "natural"? No no no no no. Maybe in real life, yes, but Twilight has no business going anywhere near cinema verite, no sir no ma'am. I really dislike it when directors don't realize/care that people have come to expect a certain level of fakeness-as-reality in the movies and that what is aesthetically natural in the tangible world is completely different than aesthetically natural in cinema.

Yeah, I am not a huge Kidman fan, either. I read recently that Baz bought the rights to a film version of The Great Gatsby. Amy Adams NEEDS to be in that and if he chooses Nicole over her then I will have no other choice than to start cutting people.
