Entourage, Seasons 5 and 6

Glee, Season One, Episode 8

Glee continues to be amusing yet stupid.

Emma is very cute and I greatly covet her entire wardrobe, especially her brooch collection. The idea of marrying someone but not living with or touching them is, I suppose, funny. To a degree. However, is the show trying to suggest that a pretty, well-groomed, young, articulate and educated woman could do no better than Mr I Have Acne in My Short-Shorts? That pushes the boundaries of believability a little TOO far.

True Blood, Season One, Episode 1

I was expecting a mix of Buffy and CSI, to be honest. What I disliked about Buffy was the bloodlessness - for at least four seasons, vampires bit people and they didn't even bleed! What I hate about shows like CSI (and House, and Leverage) is the blatantly obvious, beat-you-over-the-head-with-it formula that is strictly adhered to no matter what. This, however, was far more narratively inclined.

I liked Sookie's character! Again, I wasn't expecting to. Buffy, Bella, that chick from that series I gave up on after the first chapter - they all annoyed me. But people think Sookie is 'retarded'. She wants to talk to the vampire about coming to her grandma's Civil War re-enactments! I would totally loveloveLOVE it if she just became BFFs with Bill and got her sex on with Sam, but obviously the show isn't built like that. Still.

Admittedly Anna Paquin's teeth gap irked me - was that always there? I cannot recognise the girl from one job to the next, but I suppose that's what makes her so good.

I also loved Lafayette, for the same reason I dislike Kurt in Glee. Lafayette wears skirts and does roadworks like they're equally unremarkable. That is how it's done.

Good luck, the Entourage fandom is almost purely Vince/Eric. But some can be found, I believe, if you search long and true~

Ugly Guy/Hot Wife will live long and hard as long as men mostly write tv.

I watched the first episode of True Blood ages ago but the accents irked me to no end. But everyone else said it is fun and such. Must try again because it really was good in other ways :D

I know, and I fully support their life choices too. It's just ... Ari LOVES Vince. He LOVES him.

Ah. Yuck.

OMG I WAS JUST ABOUT TO EDIT THE POST TO REMARK ON HOW ADORABLE I FOUND THE ACCENTS. Are they not accurate or something? In my head all Americans should speak thusly. :DDD

I like Vince/Eric. But I don't OTP, so hello Ari/Vince~ but it is certainly a rarepair. I can think of an Ari/Eric fic before Vince/Eric. Though, it has been a while since I read in the fandom...

Yeah :| at least be equal opportunity lookists.

Edit as much as you want! It was a personal opinion and what not. I was just peeved by some of the accents (partly due to an incident with a drunken moron from Louisiana) I have no idea if they are accurate or not. Most don't from my experience. Though most of the Americans I have known have been from the East Coast/Mid West/West Coast rather from the South.

Don't forget that in Emma's case, she has severe OCD when it comes to cleanliness, along with a huge crush on a married man which means that she hasn't exactly gone looking for love.

YAY TRUE BLOOD! I've seen the first season on DVD, and I am absolutely in love with it. Can't wait until season 2 comes out. I won't say more, don't want to give stuff away, but I will say that it gets better and better.

Oh, and I read the above comments about the accents...I live in the south, and some of the accents on the show are too put upon, too exaggerated. Kind of like if someone attempted an Australian accent by saying "Let's put some shrimp on tha' barbie!" or a British accent by talking like Ali G or being like "I say, ol' chap, cheerio!" or something equally ridiculous. It didn't really bother me though, I was too busy being absorbed by the storyline and drooling over Bill.

*wrinkles nose* Don't like him. I think they did way too good a job of making him LOOK DEAD, on top of which boyfriend ain't exactly stunning to begin with. Sam, on the other hand - RAWR.

MARRYING someone you don't even like seems a little extreme, all the same. I understand using a rebound guy to get over a crush, but - Short-Shorts? And MARRIAGE? It's a bit too crazy. Presumably they just needed a reason to get the leads dancing to the Thong Song in wedding gear, because that's funny.

I am still deciding whether or not I like Glee...it has its moments. But I'm not a big fan of Emma's plotline - she's amazing, and I can't believe that someone worthy of a person like that hasn't come along yet.

Also, Truuuueee Blooooood. I was expecting to hate it, too. But it really is awesome. I love how they just continue straight on from one episode to the next (and even one season to the next) with no gaps. And I agree about the characters - I think they're all so interesting.

Lol, she has always had that gap, it's just really obvious in this role. She said in an interview once that she refuses to have surgery to get rid of it.

That's what I mean! Did a flood cut off their town from the rest of the world, and every other available man die of the mysterious plague? It's not even presented in a way that you can believe, because he's made out as obviously repulsive, and she is obviously repulsed. I want a new ep so I can boggle at it more. What gives, America?

That's awesome, I agree! I was truly saddened when they started bringing in 'Previously, on...' I HATE THOSE THINGS.

Hmm. Whatever floats your boat ... I think it detracts from her looks, but maybe she despises her looks and wants to be taken ~~seriously, or something.

I have no idea, but at least if that HAD happened this storyline would be more believable. I think the next episode airs on the 11th? I just hope that she doesn't actually marry him, because if she does I will cry, I think.

Me too. Ugh, I hate them no matter the show.

Yeah. I dunno. If it were me, I would have definitely gotten it fixed. Unless she wants to play Southern gals and dorky highschoolers for the rest of her life? I find it kind of distracting (same with Eve Myles and her gap too, actually).

I heart trublood. I won't spoil you, of course, but it gets so, so good. And it is one of those unique series' that is better than the novels.

I think I've already guessed about Sam ... I'm really hoping Bill dies or goes away soon, and the rest of the series is all Sookie/Sam. Probably wishful thinking...

Lol, well....

Although, the ending of season 2...

Yeah I find the Emma/Ken thing to be totally unbelievable. I like Emma but hatehate HATE her whole romance storyline. I hate the cheating of the Will thing and the obvious settling of the Ken thing. UGH IT MAKES ME MAD. But I like the singing and dancing scenes so I can't stop watching the show haha.

True Blood bored me to death.

THEY BRIBED A DOCTOR TO PRETEND TO ULTRASOUND HER. I don't know, if someone did that to me I would dump them so fast. They're doing a pretty good job of making everyone reprehensible, actually.

I can see the ways it could be boring ... but Sam is just so hot, and I can tell I'm rooting for a doomed pairing, so that provides some interest!
