Ciao.
My last 'real' exam was yesterday; I have two more this week, but I've effectively passed them on continuous assessment so frankly, I don't care about them. This is a blase and, I imagine, extremely foolish attitude to adopt, but I've ceased caring about exams. I liked them when I knew all the answers; there was a special kind of rush at drawing out everything I knew. After my experience last Thursday -- of sitting staring at a blank page and knowing that, no matter how hard I tried, nothing would come because I simply didn't know it -- I have been cured of my pretensions and also of my taste for scholarship.

Housekeeping issues have been holding me back from updating here, so I'll dispense with them now. I've written two fics recently and I'm going to post links -- they're too long and I'm too lazy to actually post them.

The first is May Contain Nuts, from the hp_springsmut challenge. I've posted it to Skyehawke; it's Harry/George (NC-17).
http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=12622&chapter=1
The second is Of The Race That Knows Joseph, for the remixredux challenge. I've linked to it onsite. It's Remus/Regulus (R).
http://remix.illuminatedtext.com/dbfiction.php?fiction_id=639

The details are within the links if you want to check them out. One rider: if you do feel tempted to leave feedback for the remix one, please don't email it to me. Of all forms of feedback I least prefer emails. Just ... leave a note here or something. Or even don't leave it at all. It was written on the fly and, while I believe it has some redeeming features, it's hardly a shining example of my writing.

Now I find I have little to say. I was born forty years old and one hundred and fifty years too late ... but that would take too long to explain. I hope to become once more a presence around these here parts, and intend to start checking my flist again tonight.

It's good to be back.

Scooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're back!! *clings on*...been so long. OK I'm acting as if I've been pining away which wasn't really the case considering I have exams of my own. 15 A-Level exams! I'm going to die...*sob*.

I will definitely check the fic out because your writing is OMGSOHOTILOVESQUEEEE! but before I have to do my Physics coursework evaluation first. Joy.

'K am gonna stop being irritating now. *love*

Yup, s'me.

Good god, fifteen A-levels? I thought the norm was four or five? Then again, I didn't do them, so ...

Trust me, fic waits; coursework, sadly, does not. ♥

Oh no I started off with 6 AS but am doing 3 A-Levels now. I have 15 exams as opposed to the normal 6 I should be having because of bazillion retakes.

I finally decided on Liverpool and Aerospace Engineering...I'm going to be slaughtered aren't I? *sigh*

Coursework is EBIL! And I'm seriously considering not re-doing the evaluation because it's only 7%.

Ah, I mixed up exams and subjects. I've been out of the loop too long.

I was going to do that at one point! Only, I realised I hated Physics and I didn't even take it past Junior Cert, so I would have been in for a ruther tough time. So I didn't medicine instead, which was far easier. Yup.

I have an exam that I could pass on an 8% question. Never disregard the percents!
Zilch. Zero. Nothing. Nada.: h/d brokeninmyth on May 9th, 2006 01:05 pm (UTC)
Well the Aerospace Engineering's with Pilot Studies and that's the only reason I'm taking it. Only 6 Unis do such a course in all of UK so not much choice there.

Medicine, easy?! O.o

I have about 3.5% out of the 7 already...

I know. It's like Ahola (I'm sure I spelled that wrong). I was thinking of the Eddie Izzard 'Dressed to Kill' video, though. He defines the European Union as an Italian on a scooter going 'Ciao'. Or something like that. I was laughing to hard to keep a clear head.

(Psst, I've been dropping in on your journal every so often ... I'm keeping your new story till after my exam tomorrow!)

After what I read in the Times about Muslims in the UK, I wouldn't be surprised. They aren't interested in assimilation; and they call converts 'reverts' because everyone is 'born Muslim'! They certainly aren't a bowed-down minority and if they can carve out a Eurabia, they will.

Frankly I prefer Eddie's version.

You underestimate your own skills, methinks!

Helllooooooooooooooo. I've missed you. And I had hoped to have that fic I started writing you ages ago finished by the time you got back, but it still isn't. Soz. *grovels*

Porn cures exam worries! Probably.

Ditto! I've come to appreciate the value of real friendship recently ... and some people just are friends. I hope I won't be going away again -- not for this long, at least!

Yes, but there was plenty other stuff you'd written to keep me happy! Not that more isn't VERY welcome, o'course.

Ahem. I'm still a little wary of advising it to people but ... yaoi is so funny. 'I love you.' 'Don't say things like that when we're eating. It's unhygenic.' Pfft.

I couldn't live without lj for longer than a week, I think, but you've done very well keeping away to get some work done.

Since when was your name "Not tonight, Josephine"? My mum says that! OMG, my mum is a H/D shipper!

I'm sure I've written, like, two things recently, one of which was Remus/James which you hate, heh. You evil Remus-hater you.

I hope I won't be going away again -- not for this long, at least!

Good.x

It was a more a case of 'I'm at home, where the internet connection is slower than a blind octegenarian who's lost his Zimmer frame ... shall I bother chewing the rest of my nails of while I wait for lj to load? ... NEH.'

So did Napoleon. OMG HE IS ALSO A H/D SHIPPER!

Oh, I wrote him recently. I can't help but make fun of the chap, though.

EEE.

ldgkjlkdjhhjkd your first paragraph about exams is SO TRUE AFDHJTDHFH. I used to love exams! They made me feel so clever! That was A levels. Now I hate them becasue they make me feel incredibly stupid and knowledgeless. :((( OH UNIVERSITY, WHY THE HATE. *stares at truly ridiculous amount of stuff I have to learn for my three exams in the next week* D: D:

Yay for your exams being effectively over, though <333

It's a saddening realisation. I AM NOT THE CLEVERCLOGS I USED TO BE. Ah well. Presumably this now leaves space in my life to develop a social life.

Or just more lj.

Hahaha, imagine Hermione at university!

That's basically been the sum and whole of my ballistic approach to exams, all right. I have read I don't know how many books in the last month. Far more than when I didn't have an official study break, that's for damn sure.

I just got up to date with the Shoebox. OMG THE TORN PHOTOGRAPH.

I await patiently.

Done! I got home yesterday after a long three day car ride with the parents. Once the boxes in my room disappear, and I get a new airport card for my sadly busted laptop baby, I will no doubt tell you all about it.

What's news with you?
