I am wearing four layers of clothing so I don't have to pack them.
Exams are over! And the streets were literally infested with medical students. I say this with all possible affection. I love my class, which is why I'm so delighted at the prospect of three months during which the likelihood of seeing any of them is very small indeed.

So ...  my plans for the summer:

1) Repeat the exams I failed.
2) Start learning neuroanatomy and embryology.
3) Finish a half-decent original piece of writing.
4) FIC! I'm thinking of writing some more Harry/Ron. The pairing is there, all I need is the muse. I'm sure something will come to me -- if the story wants to be written, that is. 'The snap'. That's what they feel like in my head ... something snaps and the story unfolds. Like an origami flower. Or a bomb.

Does anyone know when the sign-ups for merry_smutmas begin? I missed it last year. I know, I know, it's running on a lottery this year and I appear to have put myself at outs with gmth, so my chances of taking part are slim to anorexic, but you can't win if you're not in. Believe me, fic challenges are about the only area of my life where I prefer to try and fail than not to try at all.

And now, to muffins.

Yay for the end of exams - and for you back on LJ to play with us! :-)

For ever an ever an ever!

A nice long break has stirred my desire for more writing. And yes, that was meant to sound rather smutty.

Oh -- I heard that somewhere. Because so many people are signing up for it that it's getting unwieldy to run? Or something.

Did you just mention Christmas? In May? I know exams can bring on mild insanity, but... *hides from Christmas*

Don't forget that summer should always involve lying on the grass drinking gin. You could revise at the same time.

Yes, write Harry/Ron! Or Sirius/James.

Ah ... well ... for me, summer is like ... one big long day. Because I have shirked out of working. Again. Hehehee.

I have never had gin. Vodka, beer, any number of odd bright spritzer things, but not gin. It sounds like such a distinguished tipple. I must try it. If the grass ever dries out, which is doubtful.

I'm all giggly now. Exams over! Writing porn! But I will never write anything original going on like this.

O well.

Welcome back and congratulations on finishing exams! *squishes*

Also, I think that instead of Harry/Ron you should write some Draco/Neville. And a sequel to that Seamus/Neville that you did cause it was lovely and there should be more of its loveliness. But mostly you should write Draco/Neville. it would be long and delightful and I'm salivating at the thought of it (yes, I stay up at night wondering how wonderful it would be if scoradh wrote Draco/Neville, yes, I'm strange that way *g*).

*prods encouragingly*

Are you tempted yet?

Totally. I love writing about Harry, Ron, Neville, Draco and Seamus in any combination. I don't really like writing about Dean, and detest Snape. But any of the first five is all right with me.

It'll probably be Harry/Ron first, because I want to write a line saying that Ron is absolutely gorgeous. I think he deserves it, and I want to indulge myself. On the other hand, I do now have a whole THREE MONTHS. I'm sure I'll find the time to produce some D/N pour tu.

Hi. *waves* Are we on the outs? I had no idea. How did that happen?

Signups for Smutmas will begin in late August. And yes, a lottery, since that's the only way I can figure out to be fair to people in all time zones. I wouldn't count yourself out of it yet. :-)

Me and my neuroses ...
It was from the beginning of last year's posts, when I was annoyed that people weren't writing the kind of porn I wanted, and I was in a 'SMITE THEM. SMITE THEM ALL' mood. I often put my foot in it. And then assume that people actually notice. D'oh. Talk about imagining my own inflated consequence, eh? 8D

Late August. Great, thanks. I'll make a note of it! (For me, the summer has officially begun ...)

Yeah for packing! The organization required appeals to me in a very, very sick way. Unpacking, on the other hand... Well, there will be a post about it.

I like your original fiction plan. I myself am justifying my pathetic lack of a summer job with the resolution to write a novel this summer, or at least get a good start on one. Effort applied to this goal thus far: zero. Oh, I get myself into the silliest scrapes. Wonder if I could make a novel of just transcripts of me telling embarassing stories about myself, since that's what people seem to appreciate most. And what I enjoy writing most. Because I am sick to death of people asking me this, I think I should spread the love and ask you: do you have any idea what your original piece will be about yet?

P.S. Harry and Ron? You pervert. ;)
every Starbucks should have a polar bear: Pretty dude from Housescoradh on May 14th, 2006 02:33 pm (UTC)
I can actually motivate myself to pack ... I can then look around at my empty flat and feel some sense of achievement. On the other hand, my bedroom is now littered with black sacks. They are most unsightly, but I've spent most of the last two days sleeping; those black bags only make me want to sleep more.

Yes! I was all 'If I write 500 words a day, I'll get ... 20,000 words by the end of summer.' Not that I haven't written fanfics twice that length. NO MATTER!

I think for the first attempt at writing a 'novel', it's best to start writing about stuff you know. I say this with half a dozen failed attempts at writing fantasy novels languishing on my harddrive. I was going to write something about university life in Cork. With gay boys. Cork and gay boys are the only two things I actually know anything about. But that's not the thing; if I could, I'd write some kind of post-apocalyptic fantasy, with stunning and original ethics that will change the way people feel about __ forever. What would you write about, if you could?

RE PS We always knew this, though.

No assignments pour moi! Just endless anatomy. People have far too many muscles, in my considered opinion.

That's true! And there's a concomitant challenge, the name of which escapes me, for people who miss out on Smutmas. I'm just taking planning ahead to an exorbitant level, here.

Oh, well, I started writing 'a' Harry/Ron today. It's turning out more than a little odd, even by my standards. I've not written for so long that I'm completely indulging myself on this one! And happily postponing the moment when I have to write anything original, bien sur.

Heh, I used to shove most of mine in a black bin-bag for washing rather than bother with all the tedious folding and packing. My poor mother.

Zank oo.

Oh, I did that too. Three bags worth. I am astonished that I even own that many clothes. I wear, of them, two pairs of jeans and maximum seven tops. I wear two jackets. WHY ALL THE CLOTHES. Perhaps I comfort-buy them, like in In Her Shoes ... and then have consumer-driven amnesia? This is all possible.

Now the black bags are in my room. They will probably stay like that until it is time for me to go back to college, too.

3) Finish a half-decent original piece of writing.
You may have my original writing vibes for the summer, if you like. They aren't being put to any kind of use here, that's for sure. In fact - *pokes muse* - you can borrow this muse. It sleeps a lot, so keep prodding it.

4) FIC! I'm thinking of writing some more Harry/Ron.
Yes please! *is shallow*

Ee, thank you! I'm still surprised that anyone, like, notices.

It reminds me of myself. Perhaps we should engage in some mutual poking? Would that be construed as inappropriate? Perhaps whips would be more the thing. I could ask your S&M Ron. [filled with thoughtfulness]

It is already in gestation! It's kind of freaky, though. You have been warned.
